Froglets 2-4 months out of water months out of water. Great for beginners Medium sized dart frog Quiet call during the day Best kept in pairs 2 frogs / 10 gallon Dendrobates Costa Rican, Or simply known as Green & Black Auratus, is a beautiful species of dart frog naturally found in Costa Rica. Costa Rican Auratus reach sexual maturity around 12 months out of water if kept under ideal conditions and in our experience will produce clutches of eggs around 5-8 about once per month. Eggs are usually best kept by the parents, with tadpoles being deposited in water cups for later collection. Tadpoles do fairly well in groups if well fed. We have not experienced cannabalism in wel fed groups. If adequate time can not be devoted to tadpole care, we recommend keeping tadpoles separate. We have found that these frogs do not mind living in groups as long as adequate space is provided. Habitat: 10g bioactive terrarium/pair(male+female) Temps: 65F-75F Lighting: Whatever light is necessary for plant health. Dart frogs do not require UVB lighting. Remember to keep enclosure temps below 80 at all times. Over heating can lead to a quick death. Food: Fruit flies, springtails, and small Isopods should all be a constant staple in your frogs diet.
